iMentor Baltimore Hosts Tourism Career Exploration Mixer

On March 12, iMentor Baltimore hosted a tourism career exploration mixer in partnership with the Baltimore Tourism Association and Visit Baltimore. The event was attended by Visit Baltimore President and CEO Al Hutchinson as well as representatives from more than a dozen companies, who led Q&A and breakout sessions with 40 students to introduce them to different career opportunities in the thriving tourism and hospitality sector.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the Baltimore Tourism Association and Visit Baltimore hosting and inspiring the region’s next generation of leaders to consider career opportunities in one of Maryland’s largest industries,” says Sidney Wilson, Executive Director of iMentor Baltimore.

Students were transported to the Visit Baltimore office accompanied by Rent-A-Tour guides, who shared stories about the city’s historical landmarks along the way. During the mixer, students gained firsthand insights into the tourism industry as a way to spark their interests about potential postsecondary paths. Partnerships and events like these are crucial to expose students to a wide array of industries so they are equipped with choices as they plan their futures.
