No two students are the same and no two paths to college are the same. Living proof of this are Anika, Darius, Mickel, and Miah. These four students and their mentors have worked together for four years in the same high school in Canarsie, Brooklyn. As the students navigate the sometimes overwhelming last stretch of the journey to college, their mentors offer support, tactical and emotional, which looks different for each pair. Ultimately these differences reveal the unique power of mentoring to help first-generation students succeed in college.
