Nicholas "Nico" Tynes

Managing Director of Partner Programs

As the Managing Director of Partner Programs for iMentor, Nico provides thought partnership, deep institutional and program knowledge, and best-in-class service and support to iMentor’s BBBS partners. He also serves as the direct manager of the Partner Program Managers that provide day-to-day operational support to BBBS. Nico joined the Partner Programs team in July 2019 but has been with iMentor for five years.

Prior to joining Partner Programs, Nico served as iMentor’s first Post-Secondary Program Director. In that role, he helped develop and lead the implementation of college access, transition, and success programming for mentor-mentee pairs in the organization’s NYC region. He also helped to expand the post-secondary program to serve students on both college and non-college bound pathways.

Prior to joining the iMentor team, Nico worked for over 11 years at the Harlem Educational Activities Fund (HEAF), where he served in multiple leadership roles culminating in the Vice President of Programs. Throughout his time at HEAF, Nico worked directly with students from 6th grade through college graduation, designed grade specific college prep curricula, established and maintained corporate partnerships, implemented and evaluated programs, built organizational culture, as well as supervised and trained staff across organizational levels.

Nico is a graduate of Duke University, Washington University School of Law, and the Columbia Business School Executive Education Program. Of all his successes, Nico is most proud of the ongoing relationships he enjoys with his former students who still call him mentor and friend.
