Dr. Matthew Holsapple
Managing Director of Organizational Learning & Impact
Matthew Holsapple brings to iMentor more than a decade of experience leading, conducting, and supporting applied research and leveraging data, research, and evidence toward educational equity. Most recently, Matthew was a program officer at the Spencer Foundation, the nation’s largest foundation dedicated to supporting education research, where, among other things, he led the grant program for research-practice partnerships. Through this work, he supported close collaboration between researchers and educators in school districts, state education agencies, and community-based organizations toward the improvement of educational practice. He also spent time at the University of Chicago’s Consortium on School Research, leading research projects on college readiness and success for students graduating from Chicago high school and using research evidence to help high school principals, counselors, and district leaders better understand student outcomes and develop data-engaged strategies to better serve students.
Matthew earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education and a master’s degree in Education Research Methods from the University of Michigan, as well as a master’s and bachelor’s degree from Purdue University. He began his career as a journalist, covering public safety and education at a daily newspaper in Lafayette, Ind.
