Brenan Smith-Evans

Chief of Staff

Brenan Smith-Evans brings a wealth of project and program experience to the Chief of Staff role, which she is moving into after 8 years at iMentor. Most recently, she served as the Interim Vice President of Program, leading our national program design, regional support, and recruitment operations teams, and was a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Brenan brings a wealth of institutional knowledge to the role, having worked on both national and regional teams and collaborated with every department in the organization.

Before joining iMentor, Brenan was the Associate Director at Mikva Challenge, and national civic education nonprofit, overseeing program growth from 800 to 4000 students annually. She also has experience working with youth in psychiatric and group home facilities. Brenan received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois, Chicago and her Bachelor’s degree from Grinnell College.

Brenan lives in Chicago with her husband, 2 children (Noah, 11, and Lillie, 9), and two pets (a dog and cat). Brenan loves reading, playing board games with her family, and spending as much time as possible near any kind of water (ideally, the Jersey shore). She volunteers at her children’s school and is a 2-time iMentor mentor.
