iMentor and KIPP Launch Amplify Scholarship Program to Support Students in Transition to College

iMentor and KIPP, a network of public charter schools, are partnering to create an annual scholarship program to support the leaders of tomorrow on their path to and through college. The Amplify Scholars Program will provide KIPP students and alumni with support in the transition to college, a dedicated mentor and a program manager from iMentor during college, and financial assistance through college graduation.

“Through iMentor’s near 20-year history, we know how critical it is to equip students with the proper resources and tools to help them on their path to success,” said iMentor CEO Mike O’Brien. “We are proud to support these young leaders in partnership with KIPP, and honored to champion these exceptional students through the Amplify scholarship program.”

Fifteen outstanding KIPP graduates will be selected to join the Amplify Scholars Program in this inaugural year. iMentor will work closely with staff from the KIPP Through College program to ensure scholars are building the knowledge, skills and mindsets necessary to thrive in college and beyond. While in college, Amplify scholars will receive guidance from an iMentor program manager, work one-on-one with a volunteer mentor who will support scholars through their educational and professional pathways, and benefit from the iMentor community to learn about summer internships, scholarship stipends, and career opportunities.

Selected scholars should demonstrate the following qualities based on iMentor’s core values, including: belief in the power of relationships; leadership; excellence; perseverance; and civic mindedness. We encourage graduating KIPP seniors, including seniors who graduated from a KIPP middle school, to apply to be an Amplify Scholar. Applications are due by March 1, 2019.
