Many of our supporters give through their DAF (Donor Advised Fund), which is a charitable investment account or personal charitable savings account, for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations. DAFs are the fastest-growing charitable giving vehicle in the U.S. because they are one of the easiest, and most tax-advantageous ways to give to charity.

Donating via donor advised funds offers several benefits:

  • Immediate tax deductions as well as tax-free growth in funds
  • Maximize potential tax benefits and overall amount you have for a charity
  • Eliminate capital gains tax on long-term appreciated assets, if they've been held for more than a year
  • Simplify recordkeeping and organization, making it easier to support your favorite charity
  • Support legacy planning by leaving instructions with a donor advised fund sponsor

If you have a donor advised fund with Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or BNY Mellon, then you can use DAFDirect to make your gift more easily. If your DAF is with another sponsoring organization, please follow the instructions provided by your fund regarding minimum contributions and the process for recommending grants to iMentor. Our official name can be found as iMentor on Guidestar.
